Meet Manzanita Lookout

Up past the Yuba River, I traded the usual one-architect commission for a competition and invited the whole design community in. More than forty teams answered, a jury led by Tom Kundig picked the winner unanimously, and now we're carrying it from rendering to the Manzanita forest floor.
